Managing RFID Cards for Charging: Assign RFID cards to users, enabling them to access and activate charging sessions.
Steps for Adding RFID Cards:
1. From the EV Drivers module select the “ID Tags” menu.
2. Click the “Create ID Tag” button or the “Edit” icon on an existing ID Tag you would like to update.
3. Enter the required/desired information in the fields described below:
- Type - Select “RFID”
- Operator - Pre-selected with the tenant default Operator
- Label - This is a free-to-use help text which you can use to easily associate the card with a certain vehicle number, fleet parking location, etc.
- RFID Tag ID - This is a mandatory field which requires the RFID ID. Please note that manufacturers may print a Serial Number on the cards instead of the actual RFID ID. If you are unsure about the RFID IDs you can ask your manufacturer to send you a list of the IDs mapped to the serial IDs, or if you already have the IDs you can simply swap them on a charger and check for a rejected “Authorization.” Once you see the ID you can associate it to the user and next time you swipe the card it will be authorized and a session can start.
- Expiration Date - leave blank if the RFID is not supposed to expire, or select a date until which the ID will be valid.
- Choose the appropriate Status - Active, Disabled, Suspended.
- Assign a User to the Tag - After you assign the user you will have to choose a payment method: “Last used” or one of the user’s Credit Cards.
- External ID - this field is only used if Users and RFIDs from an external system should be migrated to the Backoffice, or in case you want to bulk upload a bunch of IDs for your users. In case you need to import ID Tags please inform your Customer Success Manager who will scope the actions required and will guide you through the import process.
- Click “Create ID Tag” and the ID Tag is ready to use! The RFID card must be associated with a user. A user can be associated with multiple RFID cards, but one card cannot be associated with multiple users.
